For over 20 years, I have been helping people feel more confident on the dance floor! With knowledge in a variety of styles including classical, ballroom and Latin dance, I truly aim to create a custom experience based on each individual’s needs. I also love being able to bring a wedding couple’s vision to life for their first dance. From the most classic and traditional to the most unique wedding dances, each experience is an exciting new opportunity to create something special with my clients. Hi there, and welcome to The Social Dance Studio! While I currently perform and teach in the Chicagoland area, I am a Texas-born dancer with a Bachelor in Fine Arts and 11 years of multidisciplinary training. My passion for dance is ignited by making memories, creating art and providing joy to all that walk into the studio. Dance continues to be a meaningful form of expression in my life, and I can only hope to share that experience with each of you. Catch you on the dance floor!

Evelyn was born and raised in Chicago. At the age of twelve she began her formal Spanish dance training with Dame Libby Komaiko as a member of the “All-City Jr. Ensemble Español.” Evelyn was promoted to Company Dancer to the E.E. in 2010. She is a graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Teaching from the Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago. Evelyn has taught all over the Chicagoland area as a teaching artist with Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater, Ballet Chicago, After School Matters, Dancing with Class, ArtsXChange with Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, Sherwood The Community Music School at Columbia College Chicago and The Joffrey Ballet as a Community Engagement Coordinator. In 2022 Evelyn received her Masters in Education from Loyola University Chicago. Currently she is teaching Dance at a Chicago Public School in Logan Square. She plans to continue to be an advocate of arts education as well as further her career as a dancer and performer. She is excited to be a part of the instructor staff at The Social Dance Studio.
